Since the founding of Comcast in 1963, our core values have been rooted in improving the communities where our employees, customers, and audiences live and work. We continue to uphold our commitment to keeping people connected to what matters most.
We’re also mobilizing as a company to help create a more equitable, just, and inclusive society through a comprehensive, $100 million multiyear plan to fight injustice and inequality against any race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, or ability. This commitment will focus on social justice, employees, awareness & education, digital equity, and small business opportunity.
We Focus Our Community Impact Efforts in Three Key Areas
Increasing Technology Access & Expanding Digital Skills
We have a longstanding commitment to advancing digital equity, closing the digital divide, and addressing both digital literacy and the homework gap.
In today’s digital age, technology is the primary conduit to economic opportunity, and it is vital to how we work, play, learn, and connect with one another. Driven by this knowledge, in early 2021 we announced we will invest $1 billion over the next 10 years to reach 50 million low-income Americans with tools and resources to succeed in the digital world, including tens of thousands of low-income Utahns.
We focus on addressing digital inequities in under-resourced communities through our Internet Essentials program, Lift Zone initiative and support of local digital literacy training and skills building programs. We support programs that increase competency and confidence in technology, spark interest in technology careers, and help entrepreneurs build upon technology skills to launch and grow their businesses.
Volunteerism & Leadership
Since our founding, Comcast has prioritized giving back to our local communities, and for 20 years, our passion for volunteerism has been expressed through Comcast Cares Day, which is now a year-round program giving our employees more ways to get involved.
The new approach to Comcast Cares is built on the three simple concepts of “serve,” “give” and “grow.” That includes initiatives from virtually volunteering with our digital equity nonprofit partners, to an employee Matching Gift Program, to serving on local nonprofit boards.
We continually re-think and re-imagine how we can best serve our communities and drive substantial change.
Storytelling Platform
We have a unique ability to leverage our far-reaching storytelling platforms to educate our audiences and ignite conversations about critical issues shaping the world. We work with our community partners to donate video production services and airtime to help tell their important stories and reach people who can benefit and help support their programs.

We are committed to creating equitable pathways to success in an increasingly digital world.
