Comcast Shows Support for Local Military Community
Did you know that more than 135 thousand veterans call Utah home? We work to hire members of the military community at all levels across our organization. Chris Elkins, a Payment Services Supervisor in Utah, is one of our local military employees. After living through the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Chris wanted to join the military for its service and selflessness.
Comcast NBCUniversal is committed to supporting and hiring the military community – whether you’re a member of the military community beginning your civilian career, a spouse of a military personnel, or a veteran entrepreneur accelerating your business – we want to support those who dedicated their lives to service.
We support these communities in a variety of ways, including a resource portal, which helps with the transition to civilian life, and we released an e-book and guide titled Heroes Get Hired: How to Use Your Military Experience to Master the Interview.
“Helping our veterans transform military service into civilian success is good for our nation and good for our business,” says Comcast VP of Veterans and Military Affairs, General Carol Eggert.
We know members of the military community have a core skillset that makes our teams stronger, and since 2010 Comcast hired more than 15,000 veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses. We’re committed to supporting those who are serve our great nation and their families. We continue to embrace the military community – because it is the right thing to do for our business and for those who give back to our Country.
