Comcast Celebrates Project UP + 10 Years of Internet Essentials
Who doesn’t love a party? In this year of ongoing challenges, Comcast and the community are celebrating programs that have helped low-income families access the Internet for 10 years, and the Company will announce new strategies to help more Utahns stay connected in our digital world.
The best part is you are invited to join in the celebration.
On Oct. 12, 2021, visit https://vimeo.com/event/1294225 at Noon and hear all the latest announcements in real-time.
The exciting part is Comcast’s national executives will join with Utah’s top leaders to announce grants and gifts to help Utahns.
Join us and you’ll hear from Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox, Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson, Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall, and leaders from Neighborhood House, Utah Non-Profit Housing Corp., and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake.
Rest assured, remarks will be brief, and comments will point to how we are all working to close the digital divide and get closer to achieving digital equity in Utah. That’s a fancy way of saying we want everyone in Utah to have Internet access, and we’re providing the resources to make this possible.
Here’s why that’s important. We know when students can connect to the Internet, they stay up with peers in learning and education. When adults are connected, they’re closer to their children and locate jobs more easily. When businesses have the fastest, most reliable Internet connection, they avoid obstacles in our digital world.
As Gov. Cox said, “We in Utah are working to ensure that individuals, families, and businesses continue to lead the way in connectivity in our rapidly advancing world.”
We couldn’t agree more.
We hope you’ll join us for the celebration, a special announcement, and gifting to our community to help us all stay connected no matter what the future holds.
See you Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Noon MT at https://vimeo.com/event/1294225
