Comcast Awards 24 Utah High School Seniors Scholarships for Leadership
In celebration of the leadership potential and academic success of outstanding students in our communities, twenty-four students across Utah will receive $60,000 in scholarships for the 2019-20 academic year as part of the Comcast NBCUniversal annual Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program.
The Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program recognizes high school seniors in Utah and across the country for outstanding character, integrity, academic achievement, and a commitment to community service.
Each student receives a one-time, $2,500 scholarship to be used toward undergraduate education-related expenses. Since 2001, the program has awarded more than $33 million to nearly 30,000 high school seniors across the country.
“These twenty-four Leaders and Achievers Scholarship winners are the best and the brightest in our community and they have already shown outstanding potential in academics and community engagement. We are proud to contribute to their ongoing education and what’s sure to be their future success.” – Bryan Thomas, Utah Area Vice President.
“When I was younger, I loved history. I would become entranced by the stories of leaders risking their lives and times of peace or war. As I got older, I realized that I could apply all of my love and knowledge for history to the present. This way, I could help create history.” – Kate De Groote, Skyline High School
Over the next few weeks, we will highlight these outstanding Utah students on our social media channels. Follow us at @ComcastUtah on Twitter and @Comcast on Facebook to hear their remarkable stories.
