Nearly 5,000 Comcast employees, families and friends, and the community spent Saturday morning cleaning parks and trails, adding a fresh coat of paint to school walls and classrooms, planting community gardens, building basketball courts, sprucing up homeless shelters, and so much more as part of Comcast’s annual day of service—Comcast Cares Day.
We partnered with community partners across Utah on more than 24 service projects including at East High School in Salt Lake City. Our volunteer’s work included mentoring local students in STEM and upgrading organizations into environmentally sustainable spaces that serve our communities. These projects are part of many events around the world celebrating Comcast NBCUniversal’s commitment to giving back each and every day of the year.
“Community-based projects like these are great examples of how Utahans partner together,” said Bryan Thomas, Comcast Vice President of Technical Operations. “When businesses, nonprofit groups and citizens work side-by-side to support our community, it makes our great state an even better place to live.”
Our Utah volunteers joined more than 100,000 of our Comcast NBCUniversal employees, their families and friends, and local partners who are making a positive impact this year in 23 countries around the world, doing everything from assembling care packages for U.S. service members to tree planting in areas struck by natural disasters to teaching digital literacy.
