Have you ever wished that you could ice skate with a gold-medal-winning athlete? Now’s your chance!
On Saturday, Jan. 18, XFINITY from Comcast is bringing 2002 gold medalist Sarah Hughes to Utah for special appearances at back-to-back skating parties in Kearns and Provo. She will skate with the crowd, pose for photos and give autographs.
If you’re an ice skating fan you’ll remember that at 16 years old, Sarah became the fourth youngest Olympic women’s figure skating champion of all time when she took the gold medal in the Salt Lake City winter games. Her come-from-behind performance won the hearts of everyone watching, and now more than 10 years later, Sarah still skates and speaks to groups across the country. She’s passionate about breast cancer awareness and research, as well as mentorship programs.
Don’t miss your chance to meet Sarah Hughes at these free events Saturday, Jan. 18! Here are the details:
• 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. – Peaks Arena, 100 N. Seven Peaks Blvd., Provo (Sarah will be on site from approximately 3:30 – 5 p.m.)
• 6 to 10 p.m. – Utah Olympic Oval, 5662 Cougar Lane, Kearns (Sarah will be on site from approximately 6 -7:30 p.m.)
