35 Utah high school seniors receive scholarships from Comcast Foundation

One way that Comcast helps build healthy communities and invests in our future is through our signature Leaders & Achievers Scholarship Program.

Here in Utah, the Leaders & Achievers program provides an opportunity to invest in local youth who have already shown dedication to making our communities better places to live and work.

Last week, Utah Comcasters, elected officials and community leaders gathered at the Utah State Capitol rotunda to honor 35 local high school seniors with $60,000 in college scholarships. Speaker of the House Becky Lockhart was the keynote speaker, and following the ceremony students and their families were taken on tour of the State Capitol building.

Thirty students won $1,000 scholarships while four of the students were surprised with $5,000 Presidents scholarships, and one student was surprised with a $10,000 Founder scholarship at the ceremony.  $5,000 scholarship winners included Christopher Glaittli from Bingham High School, Eileen Bocanegra from Westlake High School, Zachary Cooper from Stansbury High School and Katie Byrd from Davinci Academy of Science and the Arts.  The $10,000 scholarship winner was Bailey Wyatt from Taylorsville High School.
